New data protection laws

New or amended data protection legislation has been passed in the last few months in Angola, Austria, China, Columbia, Hungary, India and Peru.

Ironically, whilst the Peruvian law is close to the European model, Hungary’s new law has significant derogations from the Directive and has made data export particularly difficult.
